Microbiology deals with microscopic organisms like viruses, bacteria, algae, fungi, slime molds, protozoa etc. and Serology refers to the diagnostic identification of antibodies in the serum and other bodily fluids.
Our Microbiology & Serology department is committed to give exact etiological identification and antimicrobial sensitivity to help in the treatment of critical infections. It provides diagnostic solution in every possible sections like Bacteriology, Mycology, Anaerobic cultures, Mycobacteriology, Virology and Parasitology by working in concordance with Molecular Pathology department.
The department has a fully automated system, VITEK 2, which is used for the conventional identification of microorganisms from urine culture, blood and various other samples.

- Routine culture of TB, wide range of aerobic, anaerobic bacteria and fungus with and without sensitivity; smear examination; viral infection detection.
- Latest serological antibody assays to rapid molecular based techniques such as real time PCR.
- Automated Bact-Alert 3D for rapid detection of Mycobacterium spp.
- Serological tests are performed on the most advanced ELISA, CLIA and ECLIA platforms
- Fluorescent microscopy is utilized for serological diagnosis of atypical pneumonia
- All tests are done by skilled technicians under the supervision of qualified doctors to provide you the accurate results.
